About the Avon Valley Partnership

Today the Path is owned by Bristol City Council, South Gloucestershire Council and Bath & North East Somerset Council. Some small sections are owned by Sustrans. The work of maintaining and developing the Path is co-ordinated through the Avon Valley Partnership.
 
The Avon Valley Partnership develops projects that focus on improvement of the local heritage, landscape, recreation and wildlife in the Avon Valley around Bath and Bristol. Community consultation is an important part of the project. The Avon Valley Partnership is core funded by Bristol City Council, South Gloucestershire Council and Bath & North East Somerset Council. It employs a full time Development Officer: (0117) 922 4325.
 
AVP logoThe Bristol & Bath Railway Path is a priority for the Avon Valley Partnership and a working group was set up in 2000 to birng together all the authorities and user groups involved with the Path. In 2000 a business plan was written for the Path and a draft management strategy has since been written which was completed in 2001.
