Wildways Project

The South Gloucestershire Wildways Project launched this September with a highly successful Family Fun Day in Staple Hill which attraced nearly 1000 local people.

The three year project funded by the Big Lottery Fund will connect people, communities and nature throughout the Staple Hill, Kingswood and Cadbury Heath areas of South Gloucestershire.

The project has already been involved with lots of events. Pupils from Staple Hill primary school got their walking boots on as part of the Active Staple Hill programme. Two classes enjoyed a 2 mile walk along the Railway Path taking in the excitement of the tunnel!

Plans include the creation of a community orchard at Mangotsfield Station with new planting and improvements to the existing plum trees. There is also scope for small planting schemes along the Railway Path elsewhere. Want to get involved?
