Access Points

There are a variety of different access points on to the Railway Path. All level access controls will allow the majority of wheelchairs and push chairs through. Some, however, can be difficult to negotiate with an electric scooter. There are four main categories of access:
  • No access controls and with level or ramped access
  • Motorcycle barriers with level or ramped access
  • Steps
  • RADAR gates

Bristol end – St Philips Road

No barriers, level access, dropped kerb (there are no barriers on most accesses within Bristol)

Safeway – Fishponds

Three access points, all with motorcycle barriers and dropped kerbs. RADAR gate onto the Path from Hockeys Lane

Warmley (old station)

Motorcycle barriers on both the north and south entrances. The northern access has a RADAR gate that can be accessed through the car park. The southern gate has a RADAR padlock. Beware, the gate is heavy. Disabled parking and toilet also available

Bitton Station

Access with controls accompanied by a RADAR gate towards Warmley. Access with controls and a gate with a RADAR padlock on it allows access towards Bath. Disabled parking.

Saltford

Level, unrestricted access from Avon Lane with drop off point

End of Path – Brassmill Lane, Bath

Open access on slope. Dropped kerb.
